Discovering True Manhood: The Importance of Moral Strength and a Transcendent Cause

As men, we often get caught up in the idea of physical strength as the defining characteristic of manliness. However, true manhood goes far beyond mere physicality. For me, being a manly man means having moral strength and identifying with a transcendent cause.

The ideal of the warrior is one that many men may feel is unattainable. But being a warrior is not just about physical strength. It's about placing oneself between what is dear and anything that threatens it, with honor being the chief motivator. A manly man does the right thing without expectation of reward, because honor is an intrinsic value that provides its own rewards.

Similarly, a manly man is a protector of the flock and is willing to risk his own life. He knows the source of his own strength and overcomes fear by enduring difficulty and hardship. It is essential for each man to determine what is dear to him and what is worth sacrificing for. This includes having a transcendent cause that brings meaning to his life and helps him reach his full potential as a man.

Unfortunately, many men have not done a thorough self-analysis to ascertain what their transcendent cause is, or even if they have one. It's time to change that. We cannot wait until the later years of our lives to make this assessment. By discovering our transcendent cause now, we can bring meaning to our lives and embody true manhood.

At The Awakened Man Project, we believe that reconnecting with who you are as a man is essential to regaining your power and living a fulfilling life. Our community provides the support, fathering, and wisdom of men who understand what it means to be a man in today's world. Let us help you discover your transcendent cause and become the man you were meant to be.
